Your energy and your actions speak louder than your words

Have you noticed how after speaking to some people you feel great and uplifted, and after speaking to others you come away drained and tired?

It's a classic, but one of my favourite sayings remains: 

“I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

Maya Angelou


🌱 What feeling do you leave behind? 

It's not about being loud, polished, or extroverted.
It’s about showing up authentically.

Not forced positivity.
Not fake confidence.
Just real, open, human energy.

Being positive doesn’t mean ignoring challenges.
It means staying curious, constructive, and kind (to yourself included).


🧭 Check-in with yourself

Just notice your reactions; no judgement.

  • How often do you say “yes, but"?
  • When someone shares something, do you:
    - Ask a question to help them go deeper?
    - Shift to sharing your own experience?
  • Do you instinctively point out the problem or do you lean toward possible solutions?

    ✨ Most important one:
  • What do people do that makes you feel connected, safe, or seen?

Those are clues. Often, what we admire in others comes more naturally to us. It's a better place to start than looking at what we "should" be doing. 

🤍 One last thing

None of these are bad. We all do all of them, at different times and in different proportions.

If you notice certain patterns emerging, it might be worth asking:
"Is this how I still want to show up?"
