Impressions from "Leadership of the Future"

Leadership of the Future! Living in Nyon’s first event of this kind was one for the books! 🌟

We had a full house, and the energy in the room was incredible.

The mix of insights, different perspectives, and thoughtful discussions made it such an engaging evening. Our panelists shared excellent expertise, and the audience brought curiosity, great questions, and lively participation that kept the conversation flowing.

Two key takeaways for me:
🔹 Younger generations are showing "higher individualism" (basically, people find their own wellbeing important and are not ready to be employed at al costs)  and "lower power distance" (this refers to the desire to be able to challenge decisions and authority when people feel it does not make sense to them), even in Asian cultures that traditionally lean the opposite way. This shift is reshaping expectations of leadership and collaboration.

🔹 No matter the culture, connection and trust are vital. If leaders want people to truly tap into their purpose and invest themselves in their work, it starts with building genuine relationships and building open and communicative cultures.

What struck me most was how open and generous everyone was with their ideas, it felt like a true exchange, not just a panel and an audience. That’s the magic of community: when knowledge is shared, connections are made, and new ways of looking at things emerge.
