“Find your niche. Be known for one clear thing.”
💥 However… many of us became our own boss precisely because we don’t WANT to do just one thing.
And yet, the truth remains: if people don’t understand what you do, they don’t know when to call you.
A confused mind always says no.
I struggle with this one. A lot.
Maybe the answer isn’t to do fewer things.
💭 Maybe it’s accepting that you can do many things, but you can’t be known for all of them.
Diversified revenue ≠ diversified positioning. 🎯
Maybe the niche isn't one service, but it's the reason people think of you in the first place. 💡
It might be time to ask our favourite clients and partners: What do you call me for, rather than try to create the perfect answer ourselves.
The real question we need to ask ourselves is, how many things can you be known for before you're not really known for anything?
One thing I do know, in the balance between freedom and clarity I prefer to err on the side of freedom!
